The Setting

The characters begin in the outpost of Fort Talmadge, chief settlement a self-declared Duchy on the shores of the Nyr Dyv lake in a non-canonical version of the world of Greyhawk. There is very little foot traffic through the monster-ridden wilderness, and most visitors come in the infrequent barges and ships that come to deliver necessities in exchange for bullion from the nearby Red Mine.
