Davenne is the knight-commander of the Duke’s forces in the Duchy of South Nyr, and she is acting governor. The titular governor is Badol, third son of Duke Kerren Firedrake — but he has not been in residence for four years, and has only made a single short trip in that time.

Some say that she has elven blood…though she has the appearance of a full-blooded human, she has certainly worn her years well. Her age is unknown, but she has been in the Duke’s service for at least twenty-five years. She wears fine chainmail underneath her green cloak. She is slow to anger but decisive in action. Her empathy with the farmers is well known, and she is popular with the townsfolk. Despite that, she can have an acerbic tongue and isn’t known for her bedside manner.

Davenne served a number of years as leader of the cavalry contingent in the fort. That duty has now fallen to Captain Hadar. Lieutenant Poskas has command of the infantry and archers.
